posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Kim So Eun, Shin Sung Rok, Lee Sang Yoon star in new adaptation in October

Korean actors Shin Sung Rok, Lee Sang Yoon, and Kim So Eun will star in the Korean live-action television adaptation of Shinobu Kaitani's Liar Game manga in October. The series will run on tvN for 12 episodes. Yoo Yong Jae is writing, and PD Kim Hong Seon is directing the series.

Kim So Eun stars as friendly and innocent college student Nam Da Jung, who carries a financial debt. Lee Sang Yoon stars as Cha Woo Jin, a former college psychology professor and conman who helps Nam Da Jung beat the Liar Game. Shin Sung Rok will star as the host of the Liar Game, Kang Do Young. The first episode will air on October 20.

Kim So Eun previously starred in the Korean adaptation of Boys Over Flowers.

The Liar Game original manga follows Nao Kanzaki, a woman caught in a dangerous high-stakes competition known as "Liar Game." Shinichi Akiyama is the genius con artist who comes to Kanzaki's aid. The manga entered its final arc in March.

The manga already inspired a live-action Japanese television series starring Erika Toda (Death Note films) and Shota Matsuda. It ran for two seasons and inspired live-action films. Crunchyroll added the Japanese television series to its streaming lineup this summer.
