posted on by Karen Ressler

The November issue of Earth Star Entertainment's Monthly Comic Earth Star magazine is announcing on Saturday that the magazine will cease publication with the December issue on November 12. A new digital edition of the magazine is planned to take its place.

More details will be revealed in the December issue. The new digital magazine will include a number of new titles and a "big power up." The editors also promise that the new edition will continue to run manga that will spawn spinoffs and adaptations in other media.

Series that are currently running in Monthly Comic Earth Star include Shiro's Yama no Susume (Encouragement of Climb), Masato Hisa's Nobunagun, Piyo's Teekyū, and Kiku Suguwara's Holy Holy. Encouragement of Climb, Teekyū, Nobunagun, and the magazine's previous series Pupa, Wanna Be the Strongest in the World and Mangirl! all received anime adaptations.

The magazine also teases a new novel label from Earth Star Entertainment. The magazine announces four new works:

  • Slime na Dungeon kara Tenka o Torou to Omou. by writer Saitō and illustrator Yū Shiina
  • Kyoto Tashuzoku Anzen Kikō by writer Kōsuke Akai and Ryō Ueda
  • Ossan ga Bijo. by writer Maru Yamada and Kaori Fujita
  • Daimaō ga Taosenai by writer Tsuyoshi Fujitaka and illustrator to be announced

A teaser website reads, "Your 'likes' are right here. This winter, a new novel label appears!"
