Anifest in Canterbury from October 27 to November 2

Talks, screenings, manga drawing workshops, live performances on the University of KENT campus

The seven-day Anifest convention in Canterbury will run from October 27 to November 2, taking place on the University of KENT campus (directions). Tickets for the various events are available here.

The events include talks by Andy Frain (pictured), former CEO of Manga Entertainment and the producer of the original Ghost in the Shell film; and also Helen McCarthy, who has a talk called 'Anime: Exploding the Myths.' The screenings at the event include Ghost in the Shell, Kiki's Delivery Service, Tekkonkinkreet, My Neighbor Totoro, Akira, Patema Inverted, Spirited Away, Perfect Blue and two TV episodes of Cowboy Bebop.

There will also be live performances, manga drawing workshops and 8-Bit Ghibli, a free exhibition of 8-Bit artworks inspired by the films of Studio Ghibli.
