Live-Action Patlabor's Part 6 Trailer Streamed

Episodes about police labor vs. military labor & Izumino's love story premiere November 29

Japanese film website Cinema Today began streaming a trailer for the sixth part of Mamoru Oshii's live-action The Next Generation -Patlabor- series on Friday. The project's sixth part will include episode 10, "Bōsō! Akai Labor" (Rampage! Red Labor), and episode 11, "The Long Goodbye."

In episode 10, a battle between Labors breaks out when terrorists steal Labor RT99 from the former Soviet Union. The episode will feature a one-on-one battle between a the police's Ingram Labor and a military Labor.

In episode 11, the tone changes when the heroine Akira Izumino (Erina Mano) is reunited with her first love.

The 27th Tokyo International Film Festival is hosting the world premiere of episode 10 on October 24. The series' sixth part will open in select theaters in Japan on November 29 and run for two weeks.

The project's fifth part will premiere in Japan on October 18 and include episode 8, "Enkyori Sogeki 2000" (Long-range Sniping 2000), and episode 9, "Crocodile Dungeon."

The seventh and final part is slated for January with a film to follow next spring. Oshii commented that the seven-part series will have a "slapstick" ambiance, while the feature film will be serious.
