Manga Creator Lalako Kojima's Autograph Session Cancelled Due to Threat

Ninth Life Love author's signing event canceled at Animate Girls Festival 2014

The official website for Kodansha's ARIA shōjo magazine announced on Wednesday that manga artist Lalako Kojima's autograph session at Animate Girls Festival 2014 is cancelled due to a threat sent to the ARIA editorial department. Kodansha told the Japanese entertainment news website Otapol that a police investigation into the threat is underway.

The Animate Girls Festival is a female-focused gaming, anime, BL comics, hobby, and cosplay event that is now in its fifth year. Animate will host the event this year on November 8-9 in Ikebukuro. Kojima received a similar threat last November a signing event at the Comic Ōkoku store in Yokohama, which was also canceled.

Kojima's manga Hoshikuzu Drop began in Kodansha's ARIA magazine in April, and Kodansha will ship the first volume (pictured above right) on November 7. The story involves a high school student named Shino, who transfers schools from Tokyo to Ibaraki. He joins the Astronomy club and meets a girl named Ichigo Sera, and the manga follows them as they participate in the club.

Digital Manga Inc. released Kojima's one-volume Ninth Life Love manga in English in 2012.
