Last Naruto Manga Volume Likely to Ship in N. America in Late 2015 or Early 2016

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

A spokesperson for Viz Media told the website ICv2 that the final Naruto manga volume will likely be released in North America late next year or in early 2016. ICv2 estimates that volume 73 will be released in March 2016 if page count and Viz Media's quarterly release schedule remain consistent. Shueisha has not announced the volume's official release date in Japan. Viz will release the series' 69th volume on March 3, 2015.

The series finale will be two chapters long and published in this year's 50th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on November 10. Viz Media publishes the chapters simultaneously in its digital Weekly Shonen Jump magazine.

Masashi Kishimoto has serialized the ninja manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since 1999, and Shueisha will publish the 71st compiled book volume in Japan on November 4. Viz Media published the 67th volume in North America this month. The series ranked 4th among the top 10 Shonen Jump titles in terms of volume sales in 2012.

The series has spawned multiple television anime, anime films, original video anime, and game adaptations. The Naruto Shippūden anime is still ongoing, and a film titled The Last -Naruto the Movie- will open in Japan on December 6.
