Monogatari 'Final Season's' Tsukimonogatari Anime's TV Ad Aired

Aniplex began airing a TV commercial for Tsukimonogatari (Possession Story), the anime of the first story in the "Final Season" of NisiOisin's Monogatari Series, on Friday.

Koyomi: Yotsugi Ononoki is a doll, and if you were to put it another way, she is not a human. She is not a person, not a living being, and not common. Above all that, she can't help but be in conflict with human society.

Hiroshi Kamiya and Saori Hayami will reprise their roles as their characters Koyomi Araragi and Yotsugi Ononoki, respectively. Akiyuki Simbo will return as chief director of the anime, while Tomoyuki Itamura will serve as director. The anime will be once again produced at Shaft, and Akio Watanabe will serve as animation director. Fuyashi Tou and Simbo will be in charge of the series scripts.

All four episodes of Tsukimonogatari will begin running at 10:00 p.m. on New Year's Eve on the Tokyo MX TV station, the BS11 channel, and the Niconico service. Aniplex will then release the episodes on two Yotsugi Doll Blu-ray Disc/DVD volumes on February 4 and March 4, 2015.

The Nisio Tsūshin newsletter had reported in 2012 that the anime adaptation of NisiOisin's entire Monogatari novel series has been "officially green-lit." The novels already inspired several previous anime adaptations from director Akiyuki Shinbo and the studio SHAFT. Zoku Owarimonogatari, the last volume for the "Final Season" of the novels, shipped in September with teaser page for "Monogatari Series, Next Season" and "Tsugimonogatari."
