Naruto Actor Kazuhiko Inoue Discharged From Hospital

Voice of Kakashi was hospitalized last month due to diverticulitis

Voice actor Kazuhiko Inoue reported on his blog on Thursday that he has been discharged from the hospital after being hospitalized late last month for diverticulitis in the large intestine. He apologized to fans for causing them worry, and promised he would do his best to act while taking care of his health more, although he thought he had been very careful to do so.

Inoue was scheduled to appear at the Super Sound Theater "Valkyrie ~Story From Rhine Gold~" event at the Maihama Amphitheater in Chiba from November 1-2, but after consulting with his doctors he had to cancel his appearance. Kouichi Yamadera (Lupin III, Cowboy Bebop) replaced Inoue at the event.

Inoue has been working as a voice actor since the 1970s, lending his voice to leading roles in shows such as Space Battleship Yamato, Cyborg 009, and Candy Candy. He is also well known for more contemporary roles, such as Kakashi in Naruto and Naruto Shippūden, Hatori in Fruits Basket, and Nyanko-sensei in Natsume's Book of Friends. His numerous other voice credits include Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, Gundam AGE, Children Who Chase Lost Voices, Magical Angel Creamy Mami, Fairy Tail, Tokyo ESP, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
