Police manga creator published Vocaloid one-shot last year

This year's third issue of Shueisha's Grand Jump magazine is announcing on Wednesday that Osamu Akimoto will publish the "Arii yo Jū wo Ute!" (Arii Shoots the Gun!) one-shot manga in the next issue. This year's fourth issue of the magazine will go on sale in Japan on January 21.

Akimoto published the "Vocalo" Vocaloid shōjo one-shot last February. The "future story" takes place 50 years after the rise of Vocaloid culture.

Akimoto's long-running police comedy manga Kochira Katsushika-ku Kamearikouen-mae Hashutsujo ("Kochikame") has run in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump since 1976. The series has over 175 volumes and has been adapted into live-action films, a television drama, and multiple anime titles. The main character appeared in the Namco Bandai Games' J-Stars Victory Vs. "team battle action" video game last year.
