Crunchyroll to Stream Military! Comedy TV Anime

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Stream will start on January 8 for premium users outside of Japan

Crunchyroll announced on Tuesday that it will stream the television anime of Mamo Williams' Military! (Miritari!) manga. The stream will be available worldwide outside of Japan for members starting on January 8 at 2:30 p.m. EST and free users will be able to watch one week later.

Crunchyroll describes the story:

The Krakozhia Dukedom and the Grania Republic are at war, and high school student Sōhei Yano wants no part of it. But when two Lieutenants show up in tanks at his door, his life becomes an exercise in dodging stray bullets!

The anime will star:

Nao Tōyama as First Lieutenant "Lut" Lutgalnikov
Misaki Suzuki as Captain Aria
Ayane Sakura as Second Lieutenant Haruka
Ayano Terasaki as Yukari Mizuno
Inori Minase as Sergeant Shachirof
Yoshitaka Yamaya as Sōhei Yano
Takaya Kuroda as Ossan
Takahiro Sakurai as Corporal Gurū
Ai Kayano as Cecilie
Cho as Sōichi Yano
Satomi Arai as Mamo-chan

Fūga Hatori composed the theme song "Militarism!" (Miritarizmu!), and there are at least three different versions with different lyrics. Nao Tōyama as Lieutenant Lutgalnikov sings the M870 version written by Tohko Morinaga. Ayane Sakura as Second Lieutenant Haruka sings the M700 version written by Hatomori. Finally, Inori Minase as Sergeant Shachirof sings the Microgun version written by Morinaga.

Hiroshi Kimura (Recorder and Randsell, Hamatora) writes and directs the series at Creators in Pack Tokyo. Yoshihiro Nagamori (Beyblade series) designs the characters. Fūga Hatori scores the music with sound director Masakatsu Oomuro. Dream Creation produces the series, and Dax Production produces the sound.

The series is planned for 12 five-minute episodes.

The manga series ran in Ichijinsha's Manga 4-Koma Palette magazine, and Ichijinsha published the fifth and final compiled volume last year. Williams is currently serializing Miritari! Otsugata in the same magazine.
