posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Adaptation of Yua Kotegawa's love horror manga opened in October

Media Blaster's Tokyo Shock label plans to release the live-action film Arcana on DVD on April 28. The film is the live-action adaptation of Yua Kotegawa's Arcana manga series. It opened in Japanese theaters on October 19.

The love horror story takes place in a world where humans and doppelgangers can coexist. Tao Tsuchiya (live-action Ouran High School Host Club) plays the role of both Maki and Satsuki. Maki is a girl who can see and communicate with spirits. Masataka Nakagauchi plays a detective named Murakami who becomes attracted to Maki. Yoshitaka Yamaguchi (assistant director for Yatterman) directed the film.

The original two-volume manga series ran in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine in 2000-2001.
