posted on by Sarah Nelkin
Film premiered in Japan on Friday

TOHO began streaming the second trailer for the Psycho-Pass film on Friday, the same day as the film's Japanese premiere date. The video features Ling Tosite Sigure's theme song "Who What Who What."

Kasei: A foreign terrorist group has illegally entered the country. Among them, we've found the figure of former Enforcer who escaped three years ago. I don't think there's any way you'll mistake him.
Text: In futuristic world where people's mentality can be quantified as numbers, the Public Safety Bureau cracks down on people judged to be latent criminals based on those numbers
Tsunemori: I'm an officer from Public Safety!
Terrorist: Return fire!
Ginoza: What's up with these guys? Are they used to battle?
Kasei: It's safe to think that Shinya Kōgami has become a complete criminal. We've identified the means they used to smuggle themselves into the country. It's SEAUn.
Text: The stage moves to the globe
Wong: Welcome. I welcome both you, and the Sibyl System.
Kasei: The top management of Shambala Float are part of the Sibyl System.
Tsunemori: You're under arrest, Kōgami.
Kōgami: To think you'd come this far.
Soldier: Target found! Identified!
Kasei: To him, the Sibyl System is a black box from the other side of the sea.
Tsunemori: Using these methods, what do you think will change?
Tsunemori: They might put Kogami up in the same position as Makishima.
Ginoza: Don't make Inspector Tsunemori shoulder any more baggage she doesn't need.
Kōgami: What are you going to do, Inspector? Are you going to stop me or let me go? Which is it?
Kōgami: These guys are different from the ones in the army!
Rutaganda: You have a bit of potential.
Sibyl: So you reject us?
Saiga: Will you let yourself be tamed in the cage of Sybil, or will go outside the cage and give yourself up to the law of the jungle?
Tsunemori: The only one who can decide what must be protected is yourself.

Year 2112, newcomer Inspector Akane Tsunemori and Enforcers Shinya Kōgami run into a man, a man that was the former mastermind of past incidents. This man was the object of Kōgami's revenge for his partner. This man, Shogo Makishima, shook the very foundations of the system that supports peace and questioned the existence of justice. Before long, Kōgami executed his own justice on Makishima and secluded himself from the world.....

Year 2116-The Japanese government's begins to export the "Sibyl System" unmanned drone robots to troubled countries, and the system spreads throughout the world. A state in the midst of a civil war, SEAUn (the South East Asia Union, pronounced "shian"), brings in the "Sibyl System" as an experiment. Under the new system, the coastal town of Shambala Float achieves temporary peace and safety. But then SEAUn sends terrorists to Japan. They slip through the "Sibyl System" and then attack from within. The shadow of a certain man falls on this incident. In charge of the police, Tsunemori travels to Shambala Float to investigate. The truth of justice on this new ground will become clear.

The Psycho Pass movie is based on the original Psycho Pass sci-fi television anime series, which first aired in 2012. It was licensed and simulcasted by Funimation in North America. A second season began airing last October, and was similarly simulcasted by Funimation.
