Attack on Titan Real Escape Game Gets Trailer, New York Date

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Event planned for April 11, location still unknown

Details for the upcoming New York version of the Escape from the Walled City: Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin) x Real Escape Game were announced in an official trailer last week. SCRAP will hold the New York event on April 11. The organizers have not announced the event's location.

Attack on Titan Real Escape is an immersive, interactive game played in real outdoors settings.

Three events, each 1.5 hours long including the solution reveal, will be held on Sunday, February 1 at AT&T Park in San Francisco at 10:30 a.m. PST, 2:30 p.m. PST, and 6:30 p.m. PST. Tickets are currently on sale.

The game will head to Los Angeles on Saturday, March 21 at the Weingart Stadium at East Los Angeles College at 10:30 a.m. PST, 2:30 p.m. PST, and 6:30 p.m. PST. The event will be the same at all three locations. Knowledge of the Attack on Titan anime and manga is not necessary to successfully win the game.

Advanced tickets cost US$30 or participants can buy tickets at the door for US$35.

As in other Real Escape Games, players have to cooperate to solve puzzles to get items and passwords that they need to escape. The scenario has players act as trainees hoping to join the Survey Corps. The graduation event is interrupted when Titans attack and break into the citadel, and players have one hour to find the escape route.

After completing its run in Japan last year, the game headed to Singapore's Yio Chu Kang Stadium from December 13 to 14. The organizers describe the Singapore version:

The Titans are spotted to be on their way to Singapore shore!! They have managed to break through our high walls of defence, and we need to escape from these human devouring titans!!   You are now officially part of the Survey Corp!   The fate of mankind lies in your hands! ONE HOUR LEFT TO ESCAPE FROM THIS DESPAIR!

Past anime-inspired Real Escape Games have included an Evangelion game in San Francisco and a Detective Conan game in Takamatsu city.
