Musician formerly known as LGMonkees Niconico singer perform themes for continuing anime adaptation of Masashi Kishimoto's manga

This year's 15th issue of Shueisha's Shonen Jump magazine is announcing on Monday that Yamazaru and sana will perform the new opening and ending theme, respectively, for the ongoing Naruto Shippūden television anime.

Yamazaru, a singer formerly known as LGMonkees, will perform the 17th opening theme, "Kaze" (Wind), while sana, a singer who has gained popularity on video-streaming website Niconico, will perform the 33rd ending, "Kotoba no Iranai Yakusoku" (A Promise That Doesn't Need Words.)

KANA-BOON's "Silhouette" is the current opening theme for the anime, while Diana Garnet's "Spinning World" is serving as the ending.

Although the Naruto manga by Masashi Kishimoto ended in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on November 10 after 15 years of serialization, anime director Hayato Date confirmed in an interview that the anime would continue, and that a "new development" would start in the beginning of 2015.

The "final" film focusing on Naruto in the franchise, The Last -Naruto the Movie-, premiered in Japan on December 6, and premiered in the United States last month. A film focusing on the new character Bolt will premiere in Japan in August.
