Nintendo announced on Thursday that it will release the Pokémon Rumble World (Minna no Pokémon Scramble, or 'Everyone's Pokémon Scramble') in North America and Japan on April 8 via the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS. The game will be free-to-play, with the currency of diamonds and other items costing extra fees.

Nintendo describes the game:

Control cute Toy Pokémon and have exhilarating battles in Pokémon Rumble World! This downloadable game for systems in the Nintendo 3DS family is packed with Pokémon that you can battle and befriend. You can collect 719 species of Pokémon—all the ones that have appeared in the video games up through Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire. When you defeat one of the wild Pokémon you meet in a stage, it sometimes becomes your friend. Even Mega-Evolving Pokémon will join the battles, a first for a game in the Pokémon Rumble series!

The domain "PokemonRumbleWorld.com" was registered in the United States earlier this week.

Nintendo released the Pokémon Rumble game for WiiWare in 2009. Nintendo then released Pokémon Rumble Blast on the Nintendo 3DS in 2011, and then Pokémon Rumble U shipped for the Wii U in 2013.
