Level5 collaborates with Koei Tecmo, NHN PlayArt

Level5 announced during its streamed "Level5 Vision 2015 -The Beginning" presentation that it will collaborate with Koei Tecmo Games and NHN PlayArt to create two different Yōkai Watch spinoff games.

Level5 will collaborate with Koei Tecmo Games to create the simulation game Yōkai Watch: Sangoku-Shi (Yōkai Watch: Annals of the Three Kingdoms) for Nintendo 3DS. An official website for the game opened with a promotional image:

Level5 is collaborating with PlayArt on the iPhone and Android puzzle game Yōkai Watch Puni Puni. The game resembles the Disney Tsum Tsum puzzle game, also developed by NHN PlayArt.

The game is slated for distribution this summer. Players who preregister for the game will receive the new character USA-Pyon as a present.

Game developer Level-5 announced the Yōkai Watch franchise in 2011 with a game, manga, and anime already planned. The franchise's first game for the Nintendo 3DS debuted in Japan in July 2013, and the anime premiered in January 2014. The latest game in the franchise, a third version of Yōkai Watch 2, shipped in December. Bandai sells Yōkai Watch toys and game tie-in medals in Japan.

Other upcoming Yōkai Watch games include Yōkai Watch 3 and Yōkai Watch Busters.

A second season of the television anime will premiere in July, and will star Inaho as the protagonist.
