Knights of Sidonia Director at Hyper Japan Festival

Event at O2 centre, July 10 to 12

The Hyper Japan festival has announced that its guests at the July event will include Kobun Shizuno, director of Knights of Sidonia.

From the website:

Kobun Shizuno of Kry-Inc, director of Knights of Sidonia, is joining us at HYPER JAPAN Festival 2015. He is also known as the director for the modern age of Detective Conan movies, which have broken box office records and twice won Japanese Academy Awards, as well as having won a UN Special Contribution Award for his work on the Shanghai Expo environmental-issue-themed 3D animation Millennium Baby, for which he wrote, directed, and created character designs. A veteran of 3DCG direction since 1992, his oeuvre also includes directorial work on the US TV series G.I. Joe Sigma Six, as well as a host of co-director duties on projects such as Evangelion: 1.0 You Are [Not] Alone, Elfen Lied and Fist of the North Star: The Legend of Toki.

Other guests already announced for the event include:

Eir Aoi - Singer whose songs include Aurora, the opening theme for Mobile Suit Gundam AGE, Innocence for Sword Art Online and Sirius for Kill la Kill.

The idol group Dempagumi.inc.

Kihara Hirokatsu - Anime professional who formerly worked at Studio Ghibli, involved in Castle in the Sky, My Neighbour Totoro and Kiki's Delivery Service. (Now an author of ghost stories.)

The Hyper Japan event will be held on July 10 to 12 at London's O2 Centre (tickets here).
