Crayon Shin-chan Spinoff, Enokids' Akureki Manga End Next Month

Fate/stay night manga artist, Kotoura-san creator started manga in 1st Monthly Comic Action issue in 2013

The June issue of Futabasha's Monthly Comic Action magazine announced on Saturday that Action Kamen, Datto Nishiwaki's spinoff of Yoshito Usui's Crayon Shinchan manga, will end in the next issue on May 25. In addition, the Akureki manga by Enokids (Kotoura-san) will also end.

In the original Crayon Shinchan manga, Action Kamen is Shin-chan's favorite superhero on television. The Action Kamen manga began with Yashio, a boy searching for a serial assailant who is only targeting children. When Yashio is attacked himself, a mysterious hero appears.

The story of Akureki (cover seen left) revolves around Ashina Chidori, a girl who traveled to Tokyo in order to become a full-fledged demon. There, she meets Asuka, a girl who is in the city in order to become a hero. Through various circumstances, the two share an apartment together.

Both creators started their series in the first issue of Monthly Action in 2013. Futabasha shipped the fourth compiled volume of Action Kamen last month, and the first volume of Akureki last August.

Tokyopop licensed Nishiwaki's Fate/stay night manga for North American release, and Viz now publishes the manga in its place. Digital Manga licensed Enokids' Kotoura-san manga for North America. Crunchyroll streamed the manga's anime adaptation as it aired in 2013.
