Deathless Manga by Excel Saga's Rikudou to Enter Last Arc

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Manga about student possessed by time-feeding monster originally launched in 2010

The June issue of Shonengahosha's Young King Ours GH magazine announced on Saturday that Koushi Rikudou's Deathless dark comedy manga is entering its last arc in the same issue.

The manga centers around Mizuki, a normal female university student who is murdered one night. However, a monster named Suzakuwho feeds on the "time" of people around her possesses Mizuki and brings her back to life.

Rikudou (Excel Saga, Kantan Kiss, Pandora of the Crimson Shell: Ghost Urn) launched the manga in Young King magazine in 2010, before moving it to Young King Ours GH in 2011. Shonengahosha published the manga's 10th compiled book volume in Japan last Saturday.

Rikudou ended Excel Saga in Shonengahosha's Young King Ours magazine in 2011. The manga was released in English by Viz Media with the final volume in January 2014. Its anime adaptation was re-licensed by FUNimation after ADV Films, which acquired the title in 2000, shut down in 2009.

North American publisher Seven Seas Entertainment acquired the rights to Masamune Shirow and Rikudou's Pandora of the Crimson Shell: Ghost Urn sci-fi manga last October. Seven Seas will publish the first volume in July.

Update: Deathless image added.
