Heaven's Memo Pad's Sugii, Tiv End Komori Quintet! Manga on Wednesday

Manga about girls who form a high school band launched in 2013

The July issue of ASCII Media Works' Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine is announcing on Wednesday that Hikaru Sugii and Tiv are ending their Komori Quintet! manga in the same magazine issue.

The manga's story begins when Chika enters high school and seeks to join the folk music club, only to find that it has been dissolved. At a loss for what to do, Chika is approached by another first year student, Tenko, who tells her, "form a band with me!" But it seems all the members of the band have string instruments.

Sugii and Tiv (Kami-sama no Memo-chō/Heaven's Memo Pad) launched the manga in Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh in June 2013. Kadokawa published the manga's second compiled book volume last December 25, and will publish the third and final volume in July.

Sugii's nine-volume light novel series Kami-sama no Memo-chō/Heaven's Memo Pad launched in 2007 with art by Mel Kishida. It inspired a manga drawn by Tiv in 2010, and a television anime in 2011. Sentai Filmworks released the anime in Blu-ray and DVD in North America in 2013.
