Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- Adds Jack O to Roster

posted on by Egan Loo
Location tests begin in 3 Japanese arcades on Friday

Thursday's issue of Weekly Famitsu magazine revealed a new character and other details from this summer's arcade fighting game Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator-. The successor to Guilty Gear XRD -SIGN- will feature Jack O, a subordinate to "that man" who is important to the story of the Guilty Gear franchise.

Arc System Works will hold a location test for the game at the Sega Akihabara Building 1 in Tokyo, Sega Nanba Avion in Osaka, and Neo Amusement Space a-Cho in Kyoto from June 5 to June 7. Another test will run from June 19 to June 21 at an as-yet undisclosed location.

The game will include adjustments to the moves and abilities of current playable characters. Arc System Works had previously unveiled Johnny, a new playable character, as well as an unnamed character (now known as Jack O) in silhouette. Johnny will be playable in the location tests in June.

Guilty Gear XRD -REVELATOR- will also contain a new mode designed for beginners called "Stylish Mode." In this mode, players can execute basic combos, special, and Overdrive moves through repeated presses of a single button.

Arc System Works released the Guilty Gear XRD -SIGN- fighting game in Japanese arcades in February 2014. It then released the game for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 consoles in Japan on December 4, and publisher Aksys Games released the game in North America in December 16. Arc System Works will release the game in Europe on June 3.
