Metroid Prime: Federation Force Announced for 3DS in 2016

Multiplayer co-op game will also include Metroid Prime: Blast Ball

Nintendo released an English trailer for its new Nintendo 3DS game Metroid Prime: Federation Force at its E3 press conference on Tuesday. The cooperative multiplayer game is currently in development and is slated for 2016.

Metroid Prime: Federation Force will include the multiplayer mini-game Metroid Prime: Blast Ball.

Metroid: Other M, the most recent installment in the series, was released in 2010 for Nintendo Wii. Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto and Shinya Takahashi revealed in 2014 that the company was hosting internal discussions about the future of the Metroid franchise.
