posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
2nd of 4 films to open on August 29

The official website for Tamayura began streaming the first trailer on Friday for the second film, Tamayura: Sotsugyō Shashin Dai-2-bu -Hibiki- (Tamayura: Graduation Photos Part 2: Echo). The film will open in Japan on August 29.

Kaoru: Next spring, we will graduate.
Norie: I'm going to seal all sweets away.
Mao: Are you planning to do stuff with aromas and things like that?
Kaoru: I thought about it a lot, but that really is just a hobby.
Text: The last summer of high school
Norie: Basically, that's the amount that sweets meant to me. I feel so bad and so apologetic to the sweets.
Text: Everyone experiences it.
Kaoru: Everyone has what they want to do, but I don't have anything like that...
Fu: Kao-chan...
Text: The path to adulthood
Kanae: I wonder if there's anything we can do to support her?
Fu: It might be a nuiscance... But even so, can't we convey our feelings to Norie?
Man: This is the dream you've held dear since a long time ago, right? I don't understand you getting out of sweets!
Girl: Even though I'm crying...!!
Sayomi: The feelings that come from you thinking so much will reach for sure.
Text on sign: Don't mind us, keep going. -Photography club
Kaoru: I'm sure no matter how old I get, I won't forget... The last summer I had as a high school student.
Kaoru: Tamayura: Sotsugyō Shashin Dai-2-bu -Hibiki-

The first film, Tamayura: Sotsugyō Shashin Dai-1-bu -Kizashi- (Tamayura: Graduation Photos Part 1: Sprout), opened on April 4.

The second and third films will open on August 29 and November 28, respectively, while the fourth will open on February 20, 2016. The four films collectively have the title Tamayura: Sotsugyō Shashin (Tamayura: Graduation Photos).

The story of the first film is set in the spring, when Fū, Kaoru, Norie, and Maon get promoted to third-year high school students, while Kanae has graduated. Two kōhai (students younger than the original characters) join the photography club. Even though they bring in new friends, their lively daily life remains unchanged. Yet, the four third-year students are slowly thinking about their own future dreams and paths as they face graduation in about a year. Aya Uchida and Mayu Iizuka will play the kōhai. The second film in the series will take place in summer.

After all four films open in Japan, the staff will hold Tamayura "graduation ceremonies" in the spring of 2016. There will be two locations for the ceremonies in Tokyo's Kanta area and Takehara City in Hiroshima Prefecture, the setting of the anime. The four Blu-ray Discs sold at participating theaters will bundle entry forms for advance tickets to the graduation ceremonies.

The Tamayura anime project with an original concept by Sato premiered in 2010 with a series of original video animation (OVA) volumes. The project then spawned a television anime series titled Tamayura - Hitotose in 2011, with a second season titled Tamayura - More Aggressive airing in 2013.
