Shojo Beat to publish new series by Vampire Knight, Ouran authors in 2016

Viz Media announced at its Shojo Beat panel at Anime Expo on Saturday that the imprint will release the Shuriken and Pleats (Shuriken to Pleats) manga by Vampire Knight author Matsuri Hino, as well as the Behind the Scenes!! (Urakata!!) manga by Ouran High School Host Club author Bisco Hatori.

Shuriken and Pleats revolves around Mikage (lit. beautiful shadow), a schoolgirl who is the descendent of ninjas. She lives in modern-day Kyushu, and she serves a certain man. Hino launched the series in the September 2014 issue of Hakusensha's LaLa magazine, and Hakusensha released the first compiled volume on February 5. The manga will end in the September issue of LaLa, which ships on July 24.

Viz Media will debut the series in early winter 2016.

Hino launched her Vampire Knight manga in LaLa in 2004, and she ended the manga in 2013. Viz Media published the 19th and final volume in North America in October 2014, and the company also released the 2008 Vampire Knight anime series and its Vampire Knight Guilty followup. Viz also licensed and released her MeruPuri - The Marchen Prince, Captive Hearts, and Wanted manga in North America.

Hatori launched Behind the Scenes!! in Hakusensha's LaLa magazine in May 2014. Hakusensha published the first compiled volume on January 5. The story follows Ranmaru, a super-negative college student. One day, he encounters a mysterious group on campus who turns his life into turmoil.

Viz Media will debut the series in spring 2016.

Hakusensha published two volumes of Hatori's Millennium Snow in 2001 and 2002. She then resumed the series in 2012 and ended it in December 2013. Viz Media published the first two volumes in North America in 2007, and then it published the final two volumes last year. The company also published Hatori's Ouran High School Host Club manga.
