Staff, cast return from 2 TV anime series for film opening on February 13

The official website for singer Kanon Wakeshima announced on Friday that Wakeshima will return to perform the main theme song for the upcoming Selector Destructed Wixoss film. Wakeshima's single CD with the song will ship in February 2016.

Wakeshima previously performed theme songs for Selector Infected Wixoss, Selector Spread Wixoss, Vampire Knight, Vampire Knight Guilty, Strike the Blood, To Love Ru: Darkness, and Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?.

Additionally, the September issue of Tokuma Shoten's Animage magazine revealed on Monday that the film will retain the same staff as the previous two television anime series.

Takuya Satō will direct the film, with series composition and scripts by Mari Okada. Kyuta Sakai is designing the characters, and J.C. Staff is animating the film.

The film once again stars Ai Kakuma as Rūko Kominato, Misaki Kuno as Tama, Ayane Sakura as Yuzuki Kurebayashi, Ai Kayano as Hitoe Uemura, and Chinatsu Akasaki as Akira Aoi.

The film will open in Tokyo's Shinjuku Wald 9 and 34 other theaters on February 13, 2016. Participating theaters began selling the first batch of advance tickets on August 1.

The staff announced the film with a video at an April fan event:

The toy and game maker Takara Tomy launched the WIXOSS (pronounced like "wi-cross") card game in April 2014. The Selector Infected Wixoss anime series also premiered that month, followed by a second season, Selector Spread Wixoss, in October. North American anime distributor FUNimation Entertainment streamed both seasons as they aired in Japan.
