Staff from Sengoku Basara vs. Devil May Cry play return for January-February play

CAPCOM opened a website on Monday to announce that its Sengoku Basara 4 Sumeragi action game is getting a stage play adaptation. The stage play is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the franchise. CAPCOM had released the game on July 23 on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 to also celebrate the 10th anniversary.

The website will announce the play's cast on September 7.

Masanari Ujigawa is organizing and directing the play. CAPCOM's Izaki Matsuno will collaborate on the scenario, and CAPCOM's Makoto Yamamoto and Hiroyuki Kobayashi are in charge of planning and serving as editorial supervisors. Ace Crew Entertainment's Kazushi Miyakoda and Avex Live Creative's Tetsuya Yamaura are producing the play. All the staff members previously worked on the Sengoku Basara vs. Devil May Cry stage play.

The play will open at the Zepp Blue Theater Roppongi in Tokyo, and it will run from January 21-31. The play will then have five performances at Osaka's Sankei Hall Breeze from February 5-7. Tickets for both performances will go on sale for members of the Basara Club fanclub on September 16, but general tickets will go on sale on November 22. Tickets cost 7,800 yen (about US$64).

The official website for the stage play also revealed that the Sengoku Basara vs. Devil May Cry stage play will get a DVD release this fall.
