Post-apocalyptic vampire manga also inspired 2 anime seasons, Jump event anime

The October issue of Shueisha's Jump Square magazine is announcing on Friday that a stage musical adaptation of the Seraph of the End manga has been green-lit. Seraph of the End The Musical will open next February at the AiiA 2.5 Theater Tokyo, and Muck Akazawa is writing and directing. Jump Square will announce the cast and other details in the following issue of the magazine.

The original Seraph of the End manga by novelist Takaya Kagami (The Legend of the Legendary Heroes, A Dark Rabbit Has Seven Lives), manga creator Daisuke Furuya, and manga artist Yamato Yamamoto takes place in a world where an unknown virus has killed the entire human population except for children. Those children were then enslaved by vampires. The manga centers on Yūichirō Hyakuya, a human who dreams of becoming strong enough to kill all vampires.

Viz Media publishes the manga in North America. Funimation streamed the first 12 episodes of the Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign television anime as it aired in Japan from April to June.

The second part of the television anime will begin in October. In addition, an original event anime will run during this year's Jump Special Anime Festa tour in November.
