Last full-fledged SaGa game was 2003's Unlimited Saga

Square Enix announced during the Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia press conference on Tuesday that it will release a new game in its SaGa series titled SaGa Scarlet Grace. Square Enix had started development on the title last year. Square Enix also showed a teaser for the game during the press conference.

Square Enix will release SaGa Scarlet Grace on the PlayStation Vita in 2016.

Square Enix released the Makai Tōshi SaGa (The Final Fantasy Legend in North America) in 1989. Since then, there have been many installments in the series, including ports and remakes. The last full-fledged SaGa game, Unlimited Saga, was released in 2003. A social game inspired by the games was released for Japanese mobile phones in 2012. Square Enix released the Imperial SaGa browser game in Japan on June 18.
