Kan Colle Browser Game Heads to Android in Winter

New trailer for Kan Colle Kai PS Vita game also shown

Game developer DMM's Powerchord Studio announced at its Tokyo Game Show 2015 booth on Thursday that its Kan Colle -Kantai Collection- browser game will receive a version for Android devices. Account data for both the browser version of the game and the Android version will be synced. DMM will release the game's Android version this winter.

Sony also began streaming a new trailer for the upcoming Kan Colle Kai PlayStation Vita port of the game on Thursday. The game will ship in Japan on November 26 after multiple delays.

Kadokawa Games launched the original free-to-play browser game with the service provider DMM.com in April 2013. In the game, players launch patrols and expeditions with cards featuring female moe characters inspired by Japanese World War II warships such as aircraft carriers, battleships, and cruisers. Players build, organize, and repair their anthropomorphized fleet to progress through maps.

The game inspired a TV anime adaptation that premiered on January 7. Crunchyroll streamed it as it aired in Japan. The series is set in a world where humanity has lost control of the seas. The threat that has taken over the seas is the "deep sea fleet." The only ones who can counter this threat are Kan-musume (literally, warship girls), girls who possess the spirit of World War II vessels.

The franchise will also get an anime film in 2016.
