Hayami performed 1st opening song to mark her solo artist debut

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment announced on Thursday that voice actress Saori Hayami will return to perform the opening theme song for the second half of the Snow White with the Red Hair television anime series.

Hayami, who also stars in the series as Shirayuki, performed the opening theme song "Yasashii Kibō" (Gentle Hope) for the first half of the series. The song marked her debut as a solo artist.

Hayami previously performed theme songs for other anime, including Tsukimonogatari, Oreimo, and Our Home's Fox Deity.

The show's second half will premiere in January. The staff had announced in July that the anime would air in two split seasons.

The first half premiered in July and Funimation streamed the series as it aired.

Akiduki's original manga and the anime revolve around Shirayuki, a beautiful girl working as a medicine woman who has red hair, which is very rare in her country. When she is proposed to and chased after by Raji (Jun Fukuyama), the prince of her country, she runs away, only to meet Zen (Ryota Ohsaka), the prince of a neighboring country. Finding respect for the young man, she decides to serve at his side as his court doctor.

Masahiro Ando (Hanasaku Iroha - Blossoms for Tomorrow, Blast of Tempest) is directing the anime at the studio BONES.

Akiduki began the manga in LaLa in its September 2006 issue, and Hakusensha shipped the 14th compiled volume of the series on July 3. The limited edition of the manga's 15th volume will bundle a 30-minute anime on DVD.
