2nd Battle of Ōarai City previewed before premiere cast event & November 21 opening

The official website for the Girls und Panzer anime began streaming the full trailer and a new commercial for the upcoming film on Wednesday. The trailer notes that the Second Battle of Ōarai City begins two years after the end of the earlier television series.

The anime's official blog also announced that a premiere event will be held on November 20, the day before the film opens throughout Japan. The cast will appear at the Shinjuku Wald 9 theater in Tokyo, and 21 theaters will stream the event live. In addition, the previous television series and original video anime project will run in a marathon on the Niconico streaming service on November 1. The fourth drama CD went on sale on Wednesday.

The film will have the following cast members:

Asami Seto as the Chihatan Academy's unit commander Kinuyo Nishi
Ayana Taketatsu as Arisu

Ayumi Fujimura as Megumi

Yuko Iida as Azumi

Mai Nakahara as Rumi

Madoka Yonezawa as Tamada, Chihatan Academy

Naomi Ōzora as Fukuda, Chihatan Academy

Natsumi Takamori as Rosehip, St. Gloriana Girls High School

Jenya as Clara, Pravda Girls High School

Mamiko Noto as Mika, Keizoku High School

Shino Shimoji as Aki, Keizoku High School

Miho Ishigami as Mikko, Keizoku High School

The anime franchise began with a television series that premiered in 2012. The story centers around high school girls who drive tanks that exist in real life, as they compete in teams.

Crunchyroll and Anime Network both streamed the anime outside Japan. An all-new original video anime (OVA) titled "Kore ga Hontō no Anzio-sen Desu!" (This is the Real Anzio Battle!) premiered in Japanese theaters in July 2014, and the anime shipped on DVD and Blu-ray later that month.

The new film in the Girls und Panzer franchise with an all-original story was announced in 2013, although it was initially planned for release last year. The television anime series' Tsutomu Mizushima is returning to direct the film, and the main cast is also returning.
