Nobunaga Concerto, Ronia the Robber's Daughter also nominated in same category

The Asian Television Awards nominated four television anime series for its "Best 2D Animated Programme" category on Friday. The nominated series include Psycho-Pass 2, Nobunaga Concerto, Terror in Resonance, and Ronia the Robber's Daughter.

The Pyscho-Pass 2 anime series is a sequel to the 2012 Pyscho-Pass science fiction television anime series. The sequel centers around Inspector Akane Tsunemori, now leading her own team of Enforcers comprised of both old and new faces, and having taken the new Inspector Mika Shimotsuki under her wing. Working with their society's Sibyl System, they fight a criminal invisible to the system, and a conspiracy that lies at the heart of their law enforcement.

The 11-episode series premiered in Japan in October 2014.

The Nobunaga Concerto anime series adapts Ayumi Ishii's manga of the same name. The story centers around Saburō, a high school boy who time-travels to Japan's Sengoku Era. He must become Oda Nobunaga, the famed warlord who helps unite Japan.

The 10-episode series premiered in Japan in July 2014. The manga was also adapted into a live-action television series in July, and will also receive a live-action film adaptation premiering on January 23.

The Terror in Resonance (Zankyō no Terror) anime series centers on two terrorists, known only by the names "Nine" and "Twelve." They bomb the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, and issue a statement to the Japanese government that more attacks will come. A girl named LiSA Mishima is wrapped up in their affairs, and Nine and Twelve keep her in hiding. A Japanese task force formed to find and neutralize the terrorists begins to uncover a long-forgotten program that might have created Nine and Twelve long ago.

The 11-episode series premiered in Japan in July 2014.

The Ronia the Robber's Daughter (Sanzoku no Musume Ronia) adapts Swedish author Astrid Lindgren's children's book, and it revolves around Ronia, the only daughter of Mattis, the chief of a tribe of bandits who live in a large castle in a forest. Ronia studies the ways of the mysterious creatures who live in the forest.

The 26-episode series premiered in Japan in October 2014.

The annual Asian Television Awards is organized by Singaporean magazine Television Asia Plus, which recognizes "excellence in programming, production and performance." The awards will announce the winners at its Awards Gala on December 2 and 3 at the Suntec Convention and Exhibition Center in Singapore.
