The former editor-in-chief of Kadokawa Shoten's Movie Walker website reported on Monday that the High Speed! Free! Starting Days anime film sold 67,829 tickets for 95,546,400 yen (about US$774,000) in its opening weekend. It opened on Saturday on 120 screens and ranked #5 in attendance at the weekend box office.
The Girls und Panzer anime film dropped from #2 to #7 in its third weekend. The #1 film for the weekend was the latest James Bond movie Spectre, which sold 262,663 tickets for 362,221,200 yen (US$2,9378,000) on 591 screens.
