Shueisha revealed at the Jump Festa 2016 event in Chiba on Sunday that Usamaru Furuya's Teiichi no Kuni manga will receive a live-action film adaptation.

The event also revealed that a third stage play adaptation of the manga, titled "Saishūshō" Gakuran Kageki: Teiichi no Kuni -Kessen no Last Dance- ("Final Chapter" School Uniform Opera: Teiichi's Country -Bloody Battle's Last Dance-), will premiere in March 2016.

The original manga's story follows the high school student Teiichi Akaba and his student government struggles at a private boys' school in Shōwa-era Japan.

The second stage play, titled Gakuran Kageki: Teiichi no Kuni - Kessen no Mime Mime (School Uniform Opera: Teiichi's Country - The Decisive Battle of Mime Mime), premiered in July starring Ryo Kimura as protagonist Akaba Teiichi and Jingi Irie as Dan Ookata.

The first stage play, titled Gakuran Kageki: Teiichi no Kuni (School Uniform Opera: Teiichi's Country), premiered in April 2014. TC Entertainment released the DVD of the first stage play in October 2014.

Furuya (Jisatsu Circle, Lychee Light Club, No Longer Human) launched Teiichi no Kuni in the inaugural issue of Jump SQ. 19 in May 2010, but moved the manga to the main Jump Square magazine in its March 2012 issue. Shueisha shipped the 12th compiled book volume on September 4, and the 13th volume will ship on January 4.
