Manga Creator/Illustrator Shouji Dodai Arrested for Indecent Assault

Tokyo's Metropolitan Police Department arrested 45-year-old illustrator Shouji Dodai on suspicion of indecent assault. The suspect allegedly fondled the behind of a female high school student while riding past on a bicycle. The police are investigating possible connections to about 10 similar fondling incidents against high school girls in the area since July.
According to the police, the suspect allegedly touched the victim on the street in the Kamisaginomiya neighborhood of Tokyo's Nakano Ward around 9:00 a.m. on December 24. The suspect allegedly admitted to the charge, saying that he thought it would relieve the stress of work. He reportedly also said that he targeted female victims whose hands were preoccupied with smartphones while walking.
Dodai worked on adult manga and games, and he is credited with original character designs on the Magical Kanan original video anime.
