Shimoneta Light Novel Series Listed as Ending in 11th Volume

posted on by Karen Ressler
Comedy set in a world that has banned crude language began in 2012

Shogakukan's website is listing the upcoming 11th volume of Hirotaka Akagi's Shimoneta to Iu Gainen ga Sonzai Shinai Taikutsu na Sekai (A Boring World Where the Concept of 'Dirty Jokes' Doesn't Exist) light novel series as the end of the story. The volume will ship on February 18.

Akagi launched the light novel series with illustrations by Eight Shimotsuki in 2012, and Shogakukan published the ninth volume in September. N' Yuzuki has been drawing a manga adaptation in Mag Garden's Monthly Comic Blade magazine since spring 2014.

The school comedy light novel series is set 16 years after the "Law for Public Order and Morals in Healthy Child-Raising" banned coarse language in the country. Tanukichi Okuma enrolls in the country's leading elite public morals school and is soon invited into the Anti-Societal Organization (SOX) by its founder, Ayame Kajō. As a member blackmailed into joining by Ayame, Tanukichi ends up taking part in obscene acts of terrorism against the talented student council president Anna (for whom Tanukichi has a crush).

The anime adaptation premiered in July and Funimation and AnimeLab streamed the series as it aired in Japan.
