Suppli creator draws gourmet manga

The February issue of Shodensha's Feel Young magazine revealed on Friday that Mari Okazaki will launch a new manga titled Kashimashi Meshi (pictured at right) in the magazine's next issue, which Shodensha will publish on February 8. The manga will have a color opening page, and will appear on the issue's front cover.

The magazine teases the manga:

It's okay to use a lot of ingredients. Hold off on eating the food with your fingers. Crunch. Chew. Nibble. Swallow. Who could frown when faced with such delicious food and sake?

Okazaki recently ended her Zutto Dokushin de Iru Tsumori? (Will I Stay Single Forever?) manga series in Feel Young. Okazaki is best known for her workplace romance Suppli, which ran in Feel Young magazine from 2003 to 2009. The story revolves around Minami Fujii, a woman who discovers romantic opportunities at her job in an advertising agency after she splits up with her boyfriend. Tokyopop published five volumes of the series. The manga was adapted into a television drama in Japan in 2006.
