The staff previously revealed visuals for the two male leads:

Ryūnosuke Matsumura as Nine

Mashū Ishiwatari as Twelve

Mitsuaki Kanuka is also reprising his role from the anime as Mukasa. The play will also star Eiji Takigawa as Shibazaki, Misaka Momose as LiSA Mishima, Katsuhiko Ibuka as Hamura, and Naoya Gōmoto as Kurahashi.

Shutaro Oku (Persona 3, Ghost in the Shell Arise stage plays) is directing the play off a script by Jun Kumagai (Hamatora, Persona 3 the Movie #1 Spring of Birth). The play will run at Tokyo's Zepp Blue Theater Roppongi from March 2-6. Tickets are currently on sale.

Funimation streamed the original anime series as it aired in Japan in summer 2014, and it describes the story:

Legendary director Shinichiro Watanabe and famed composer Yoko Kanno are back with a suspense-filled intellectual thriller!

In an alternate version of the present, Tokyo has been decimated by a shocking terrorist attack, and the only hint to the identity of the culprit is a bizarre video uploaded to the internet. The police, baffled by this cryptic clue, are powerless to stop the paranoia spreading across the population.

While the world searches for a criminal mastermind to blame for this tragedy, two mysterious children – children who shouldn't even exist – masterfully carry out their heinous plan. Cursed to walk through this world with the names Nine and Twelve, the two combine to form “Sphinx,” a clandestine entity determine to wake the people from their slumber – and pull the trigger on this world.
