1st Danganronpa Stage Play Returns in June With New Cast

Theatrical troupe CORNFLAKES announced during the final performance of the Super Danganronpa 2 ~Sayonara Zetsubo Gakuen~ (Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Academy) stage play in December that the first Danganronpa stage play is returning to the stage with a new cast and director. The play's full title is Danganronpa The Stage 2016 ~Kibō no Gakuen to Zetsubō no Kōkōsei~ (Danganronpa The Stage: The Academy of Hope and the High School Student of Despair), emulating both the Japanese title of the original game, as well as the first stage play.
The currently announced cast members include:
Kanata Hongou as Makoto Naegi (returning from original play)
Rei Okamoto as Kyōko Kirigiri
Yūichi Nakamura as Byakuya Togami
Kanon Nanaki as Toko Fukawa
Masaya Matsukaze and Shōhei Osada (double cast) as Yasuhiro Hagakure
Shun Matsuo and Masaaki Amenomiya (double cast) as Hifumi Yamada
Reina Ikehata as Celestia Ludenberg
Yuya Miyashita as Leon Kuwata
Mitsu Mirata as Mondo Owada
Taishi Sugie as Kiyotaka Ishimaru
Shizuo Yamasaki as Sakura Ogami
The play will run in Tokyo from June 16 to 26, in Nagoya on July 1 and 2, in Osaka from July 7 to 10, and in Kanagawa from July 14-16.
Tatetsu Tashio is directing the play and writing the scripts, while the game series' original composer Masafumi Takada is composing the music for the play.
The first stage play debuted in October 2014, while the second stage play, Super Danganronpa 2 ~Sayonara Zetsubō Gakuen~ (Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair Academy), debuted last December.
