Hibiku Yamamura plays girl with matches that turn delusions into reality in NAZ anime

The Kadokawa Anime channel on the YouTube service began streaming the one-minute anime promotional video for The Little Match Girl (Match Shōjo) manga by Sanami Suzuki on Wednesday.

The original manga follows the somewhat mysterious daily life of an enigmatic girl named Rin. Her "delusion matches" turns momentary delusions into reality in their flickering flames. The name of the manga draws inspiration from a fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen.

Takayuki Kuriyama (DRAMAtical Murder episode 12) directed the video at the studio NAZ. Masayori Komine designed the characters, and Shūji Katayama (Francesca, Overlord, Yurumates3Dei) composed the music. Hibiku Yamamura plays the title character.

Kadokawa published the first two compiled book volumes of the manga in November 2014 and July 2015, and the third volume will ship on March 4. The manga is also inspiring a May 28 live-action film starring SKE48 idol group member Sumire Satō, BOYS AND MEN male idol group members Yutaka Kobayashi and Takafumi Honda, and voice actor Kensho Ono.
