The Boy and the Beast AU/NZ Theatrical Release Announced

Madman Entertainment has announced The Boy and The Beast theatrical screening dates and locations for the 3rd of March 2016. The date and locations are listed under the film's entry on Madman.com.au. The locations are listed at the bottom of the article;

A coming-of-age action fantasy tale about Kyuta, a misfortunate, lonely boy who lives in the human world, and Kumatetsu, a lonesome beast who lives in the imaginary world. The relationship, at times stormy, between the beast and his young apprentice gradually grows stronger. Overcoming their solitude, they come to realize how much they need each other. Mamoru Hosoda (Summer Wars, Wolf Children) created and scripted the movie. The film is Hosoda's first film since 2012, when his relatively new animation movie company Studio Chizu released Wolf Children as its first project. Masakatsu Takagi (Wolf Children) scored the soundtrack.

The film debuted at #1 in the Japanese box-office on July 11 and earned 667,035,100 yen (about US$5.4 million) in its first two days. It eventually surpassed the total box office earnings of Hosoda's previous film, Wolf Children. The film was the second-highest grossing domestic film in Japan in 2015.

While Madman Entertainment were the first to announce licensing The Boy and The Beast outside of Japan, Funimation soon licensed the film in North America and their English Dub adaptation will be available at some theatres across Australia. You can view the English Dub cast here.

Yen Press has licensed the film's novel and manga adaptation and will release the novel and the first volume of the manga on February 23 2016.
