New opening song exclusive to 3rd Blu-ray/DVD volume shipping Wednesday

The official website for the Monogatari Series began streaming a preview video for "Yūdachi Hōteishiki," the opening theme song by Sodachi Oikura (Marina Inoue) for the "Sodachi Lost" arc of the Owarimonogatari anime, on Tuesday. The new opening theme will be exclusive to the home video version of the episodes.

The third volume of Owarimonogatari's Blu-ray and DVD home video version features episodes four, five, and six, which cover the "Sodachi Lost" arc of the anime. It shipped on Wednesday. The volume includes a CD with the "Yūdachi Hōteishiki" song, as well as a commentary track where the voice actors comment as their characters. The track includes Marina Inoue as Sodachi Oikura and Chiwa Saito as Hitagi Senjōgahara.

The series premiered last October with a one-hour special. Crunchyroll and Daisuki both streamed the series as it aired.

The three-volume Owarimonogatari novel is part of the "final season" of the Monogatari series. The first volume shipped with the stories "Ōgi Formula," "Sodachi Riddle," and "Sodachi Lost" in October 2013. The second volume shipped in January 2014 with the story "Shinobu Mail." The third volume shipped in April 2014.

The novel series' "final season" ended with Zoku Owarimonogatari last September, but it features a teaser for "Monogatari Series, Next Season Tsugimonogatari."

Vertical published the earlier Kizumonogatari novel last December, and will publish the original Mongatari Series novels beginning January 2017. The novel is inspiring an anime film trilogy. The first film opened in Japan on January 8, and will open in select theaters in the United States starting on Saturday.

Aniplex of America is releasing the anime adaptations of the Monogatari Series in North America.
