Onigiri TV Anime's Ad Features Starmarie Opening Theme Song

TV anime premiering on April 7 has 5 minutes per episode

The official website for the upcoming anime adaptation of Cyberstep's massively multiplayer online role-playing game Onigiri began streaming a commercial for the anime on Wednesday. The video features the anime's opening theme song "Hime wa Rankiryū☆Goikkō-sama" by Starmarie, and reveals that the anime will run five minutes per episode.

Narration: Everyone, please listen! It looks like there's an action anime where girls have large-scale battles with monsters in Japan! The anime Onigiri is starting broadcasts in April! Oh, and by the way, it's a 5-minute anime.

Takashi Yamamoto (Final Approach, Nanatsuiro Drops) will direct the series at Pierrot Plus (Beelzebub, Sabagebu!). Takamitsu Kouno (Utawarerumono: The False Faces, Abnormal Physiology Seminar) is handling series composition with Takashi Aoshima (Himouto! Umaruchan, If Her Flag Breaks) and Atsushi Oka (Ojisan to Marshmallow) collaborating on the scripts. Yukiko Ibe (Nanatsuiro Drops, Jewelpet Twinkle) is serving as character designer and chief animation director. Satoshi Shibata (Rainbow Days) is serving as art director and background artist. Junko Tsukidate (Lady Jewelpet) is handling color design and Kazutoshi Azuma (Isuca) is handling prop design. Zack Promotion is in charge of sound production.

Starmarie will perform the show's opening theme song "Hime wa Rankiryū☆Goikkō-sama."

Cyberstep describes the story:

Onigiri thrusts its players into mystical Japan, a land filled with mythical creatures of Japanese legend. Starting as a lone Oni, players fight against the malevolent influence of the Kamikui as their miasma spreads over the land. 8 NPCS, each with their own distinct personality and skills, ally themselves with the player to help build a legend, and quell the evil that has arisen. As you grow stronger together, so do the bonds binding you to each other.

The series will premiere on Tokyo MX and BS Fuji on April 7 at 1:00 a.m.
