On Monday April 11, Animatsu will release the first live-action Parasyte feature film on Blu-ray and DVD.

In the film, alien beings start taking over humans by entering in through their noses and ears and attaching themselves to their brains. One alien called Migi is only able to take over high school student Shinichi Izumi's right arm, and is unable to control Shinichi completely. Migi and Shinichi learn to co-exist, and the two battle other Parasites who see humans only as food.

Shota Sometani (live-action xxxHOLiC, All Esper dayo!) plays Shinichi Izumi, Eri Fukatsu (Onnanoko Monogatari) plays Ryōko Tamiya, and Ai Hashimoto (Blood-C: The Last Dark, live-action Another, Sadako 3D) plays Satomi Murano. The cast also features Tadanobu Asano as Gotō, Masahiro Higashide as Hideo Shimada, Miko Yoki as Nobuko Izumi, and Jun Kunimura as Hirama, Kazuki Kitamura as Takeshi Hirokawa, Hirofumi Arai as Uragami, Pierre Taki as Miki, and Nao Omori as Kuramori.

The manga was also adapted as a television anime, Parasyte the maxim; the first volume will be released by Animatsu on May 2.

Animatsu will also release the series Brynhildir in the Darkness on Blu-ray and DVD. Studio ARMS (MAOYU, Queen's Blade) will animate the anime adaptation of Lynn Okamoto's (Elfen Lied, Nononono) Gokukoku no Brynhildr (Brynhildr in the Darkness) science fiction manga. The series will premiere in April.

The original manga revolves around high school boy Ryōta Murakami, who cannot forget his female childhood friend whom he let die in an accident. Feeling that he must fulfill their promise of proving the existence of aliens, he has continuously looked up at the sky as a member of the astronomy club. One day, a girl named Neko Kuroha who looks exactly like his childhood friend appears as a transfer student. It turns out that she is a magic-user that has run away from a research lab.

Hiroaki Karasu (episode animation director on Gatchaman Crowds, Kimikiss pure rouge) is serving as character designer and chief animation director.

Anime Limited will release the third part of its four-part release of Sword Art Online II. It contains episodes 15 to 19 of the series. It will be released both as a Collector's Edition (both Blu-ray and DVD) including a slipcase and a 56-page booklet, and also as a standard DVD.

MVM is releasing Hanamonogatari, part of the Monogatari franchise, on DVD and Blu-ray. From the Anime-on-line site:

One morning, Suruga Kanbaru meets Ougi Oshino, who calls himself a nephew of Meme Oshino. He tells Suruga about a rumor of "the Lord Devil" that grants any wish. Suruga is worried that the identity of the Lord Devil is none other than herself because she made a wish on "the Monkey's Paw."
