Stranger of Sword City Heads to PC via Steam in June

NIS America slated to release game's PS Vita version in N. America, Europe on April 26

NIS America announced on Thursday that it will release Experience Inc.'s Stranger of Sword City (Tsurugi no Machi no Ihōjin) game on the PC via Steam in June. NIS America previewed the PC version's new "Picture Gate" feature – which allows players to upload images as character portraits – by showing screenshots of the game with a Prinny from its Disgaea series as a character portrait.

The Steam Database website previously listed the game last December.

NIS America describes the game:

Your flight crashes after passing through a mysterious portal. As the sole survivor, you awaken to an unfamiliar land lit by stars you've never seen. This land is Escario, the city of swords. Quickly marked as the Chōsen One, the Stranger of Sword City, you must defend this place, and Chōose your allegiances carefully as you scour this land for a way home.

This title is, at its core, a game about death and fighting against vanishing forever. You will discover new meaning in the Chōices you make to survive against all odds. You will define yourself by the lives of those you leave behind, by the people you align yourself with, and the experiences you have on each new venture into the dark labyrinths that threaten to trap you.

Experience Inc. released the game on the Xbox One in North America on March 22, while NIS America will release the game's PS Vita version in North America and Europe on April 26.

Experience Inc. developed Stranger of Sword City, and released it in Japan on the Xbox 360 in June 2014, and on the PC in August 2014, both with the subtitle Shiro no Ōkyū (White Palace). Experience Inc. then released the game for the PlayStation Vita in January 2015 with the subtitle Kuro no Ōkyū (Black Palace). Experience Inc. released a new version of the game with a new art style on the Xbox One in Japan on March 24.

In the game, players Chōose from human, elf, dwarf, ney, and migmy races; pick a character class; and navigate through dungeons to gain treasure while avoiding death from traps.
