The female idol group Otome Shintō announced on their official website on Monday that the group will break up after their concert at TSUTAYA O-WEST in Shibuya, Tokyo on July 3. The band states that the group is breaking up so that each member can pursue their own projects. They thanked their fans for their support.

The group is set to release their second album, Otome Shintō Dai Ni Maku ~Tabidachi no Uta~, on June 29.

The group formed in December 2012 with the founding members Yurika Takahashi, Ayame Tajiri, Chika Arakawa, and Wakana Aoi. They performed the theme songs to the GJ Club and Chronicles of the Going Home Club anime. Arakawa and Aoi left the group in July 2014, and the group then added four new members: Mari Aihara, Mayu Ogata, Arisa Sonohara, and Airi Hasegawa. With that lineup, the group performed the theme songs for the Ai: Tenchi Muyo!, and most recently, the Nurse Witch Komugi R anime.

The group released their eighth single, "Ame to Namida to Otome to Taiyaki," on March 2. The single ranked #12 in the Oricon weekly single chart in its first week.
