Voices of Pars merchants Shagad, Graze in 8-episode season premiering July 3

The official website for the Arslan Senki: Fūjin Ranbu (The Heroic Legend of Arslan: Dust Storm Dance) television anime series revealed two new character designs and their respective cast members on Thursday. Both characters are men from Pars' southern port town of Giran.

The new cast members are (character name romanizations are not officially confirmed):

Takahiro Sakurai as Shagad, a major merchant and an old friend of Narsus since they sat next to each other in school

Kenjiro Tsuda as Graze, a merchant ship captain. As a brave warrior and also a maritime merchant with a good eye for business, he is the ideal "man of the sea." He has a fateful encounter with Arslan and the others at Giran.

Sakurai has been a self-professed fan of the original novels since he first read it as a teenager, so he considers his voice role to be a great honor. He and Tsuda join the other previously revealed new cast members:

Tetsu Inada (Tsubasa: RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE's Kurogane, Turn A Gundam's Harry Ord) as Ilterish, a young general of Turan's large army who invaded Pars while it was still in a panic. He is an ambitious man with a violent temper, and he fights like a warrior gone mad. Those serving him call him by the title "Jinon" (Royal Prince).

Tesshô Genda (One-Punch Man's Metal Knight, Sengoku Basara franchise's Takeda Shingen) as Tokhtamysh, the 14th king of Turan's army who gained his position through many years of political strife. He decided to invade Pars in order to strengthen his currently weak political influence. He goes out on the battlefield to fight himself during the battle at Peshawar Castle, but...

Sōma Saitō (RIN-NE's Kain, Haikyu!!'s Tadashi Yamaguchi) as Jimsa, a general of Turan's army whose face makes him look younger than he really is. He's proud of his quick movements during battle, which are thanks to his small build. He has a gallant personality, and is very skilled with the sword, but is even better with a blowgun. During the battle at Peshawar Castle, he is led to an unimaginable fate.

Satoshi Hino (Bakuman's Akito Takagi, Naruto Shippūden's Sai) as Melrain, a swordsman of good skill who is also an expert at the bow and arrow thanks to his excellent eyesight. He is a survivor of the Zott tribe and he protects Irina, who is a princess of a ruined country. He is looking for Alfreed, who is one of the candidates for the next head of the tribe.

Ai Kayano (Anohana's Menma, Chihayafuru's Kanade Ōe) as Irina, the princess of Maryam, which was destroyed by Lusitania. She lost her eyesight due to an illness, and her body is frail, but her appearance is regal and proud.

The new season will be eight episodes long, and it will premiere on July 3. The new season will air on Sundays at 5 p.m. on MBS and TBS, which is the "Nichigo" timeslot.

The staff and cast are returning to the new series, but Kyō Yamashita is the new CG director, replacing Daisuke Suzuki, and Tatsuya Shimano is replacing Hiroshi Adachi as the modeling director. Felix Film is replacing SANZIGEN with the 3DCGI. Eir Aoi (Sword Art Online, Fate/Zero) will perform the new season's opening theme song "Tsubasa" (Wings), and Kalafina (Madoka Magica, first season of The Heroic Legend of Arslan) will perform the ending theme song "blaze."
