Atlus revealed a new party member for its upcoming Persona 5 PlayStation 4 game during an E3 live-stream on Wednesday. The character's name is Goro Akechi, a high school student and detective.

In addition, Atlus began streaming gameplay videos introducing three of the game's cooperation characters:

Atlus USA began streaming the game's E3 trailer, which is an English-subtitled version of the fourth promotional video that debuted last month.

The latest entry in the Persona role-playing games will ship for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 on September 15 in Japan, and on February 14, 2017 in the Americas. The game's western release will have English audio only.

Atlus will offer the American release in a "Take Your Heart" Premium Edition that includes a soundtrack CD, a Morgana plush, a hardcover art book, a steelbook, and a school bag. The game will also be available in a SteelBook Edition.

The game features animation sequences from the Production I.G studio.

The Persona 5 the Animation -The Day Breakers- television anime special will air in September, before the game's launch. It will recount the prologue story of the young thief organization at the center of the game.

An orchestral concert will run on August 13. "Persona 20th Fes," a "immersive Persona cultural festival" in the style of high school festivals, will run at the Arts Chiyoda 3331 complex in Tokyo's Akihabara district in December to celebrate the franchise's 20th anniversary.
