Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya 3rei!! Anime's 1st BD/DVD Has Original 5-Minute Anime Short

Anime premiering July 6 will have 6 BD/DVD volumes

Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya 3rei!!, the fourth television anime based on Hiroshi Hiroyama's Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya manga, will have six Blu-ray Disc/DVD home video volumes in Japan. The first volume will include a five-minute original anime short written by Hiroyama titled "Shōgakusei no 〇〇 Shugyō" (Elemtary School Student's 〇〇 Training).

The first Blu-ray Disc and DVD volume is slated for September 30, and will also include a copy of the anime short's script, a short booklet containing the show's production art and interviews, the storyboard for the show's first episode, special packaging art drawn by character designer Kazuya Hirata, and the show's textless title seuqence. According to the retailer Amazon, each of the volumes will be 50 minutes long.

The anime will premiere on AT-X, Tokyo MX, and other channels on July 6.

Kaori Nazuka as Miyu Edelfelt

Misato Fukuen as Tanaka

Ryoko Shiraishi as Angelica

Rie Kugimiya as Beatrice Flowerchild

  • Aya Endo as Gil
  • Sumire Morohoshi as Erika
  • Kana Ueda as Rin Tohsaka
  • Shizuka Itou as Luviagelita Edelfelt
  • Hitomi Nabatame as Bazett Fraga McRemitz
  • Naoko Takano as Magical Ruby
  • Yumi Kakazu as Magical Sapphire

Misato Fukuen, Ryoko Shiraishi, Rie Kugimiya, and Sumire Morohoshi are new additions to the cast. Yumi Kakazu replaces the late Miyu Matsuki in the role of Magical Sapphire.

Shin Oonuma returns as chief director of the series. Ken Takahashi (previously a key animator and action director for the series) will join returning director Masato Jinbo to direct the series at Silver Link. Kenji Inoue is once again in charge of supervising the series' scripts, penned by Hazuki Minase. Kazuya Hirata (previously a key animator for the series) replaces Nozomi Ushijima in designing the characters for animation. Hiroshi Morikawa replaces Takeshi Tateishi as art director. Mami Hirai returns for the series' color design, and Kousuke Nakanishi returns as director of photography.

ChouCho will perform the anime's opening theme song "Asterism," while TECHNOBOYS PULCRAFT GREEN-FUND and Yumeha Kōda will perform the ending theme song "WHIMSICAL WAYWARD WISH."

Hiroyama's original Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya manga re-imagines the Fate/stay night character Illyasviel von Einzbern in an alternate universe as a magical girl. Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya ran in Kadokawa Shoten's Comp Ace from 2007 to 2008. Hiroyama then launched several sequel manga series, including Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya Drei!! in 2012.

The first television anime premiered in 2013, followed by the second in 2014 and the third last July. Crunchyroll streamed all three previous series as they aired in Japan, and Sentai Filmworks licensed all three series for home video release in North America.
