Played new Star Trek films' Chekov, English From Up On Poppy Hill dub's Shun Kazama

Actor Anton Yelchin passed away on Sunday due to a car accident. He was 27.

According to Yelchin's friends who had visited him after he did not appear at a scheduled band rehearsal, they had found the actor pinned against a brick mailbox pillar and security gate by his own vehicle. The car was still running and in neutral when the actor was found. According to Los Angeles County coroner's office investigator Selena Barros there were "no obvious suspicious circumstances involved."

Yelchin is perhaps best known for portraying the character of Pavel Chekov in the new Star Trek film series, including 2009's Star Trek and 2013's Star Trek Into Darkness. He will appear posthumously in Star Trek Beyond. He voiced the role of protagonist Shun Kazama in the English dub of Studio Ghibli's From Up On Poppy Hill (Kokuriko-Zaka Kara) anime film, and also appeared in the 2010 live-action American-Japanese co-production film Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac (Dare ga Watashi ni Kiss o Shita). He was also announced for the voice cast of Guillermo del Toro and Netflix's Trollhunters series.
